- Hybrid Role: Work remotely with occasional in-person days at our downtown Toronto office location.
- Hours: 37.5 hours weekly, daytime EST.

The Opportunity

SBC is seeking a full-time permanent Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic tight-knit team and contribute to our mission of advancing sustainability in Canada’s built environment.
Your Role
As our full-time permanent Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the team and ensuring the smooth functioning of SBC’s day-to-day activities. You will report to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Assist with correspondence and document preparation.
- Calendar Management: Assist with management of team calendars through regular communication with the team regarding priorities and activities.
- Event Coordination: Support the planning and logistics for meetings, workshops, and events (both virtual and in-person).
- Office Management: Coordinate with clients, vendors and volunteers as needed.
- Record Keeping: Organize and manage digital files and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- CRM System Management: Play a critical role in developing and managing SBC’s customer relationship management.
- Team Support: Provide ad-hoc support to team members to meet organizational goals.
Characteristics & Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has completed a College or University Degree in a field that relates to this position or SBC’s mission.
- Has a minimum of 2 years demonstrated commitment and experience in an administrative or team support role.
- Experience in a professional services or government service environment is a definite asset.
- Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving and research as well as the ability to work effectively independently.
- Collaborates and thrives in an unstructured working environment.
- Has a friendly demeanor and respectful attitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- Interest in sustainability and alignment with SBC’s mission is an asset.
