Here’s what you will do as Junior Analyst, Options:
As Junior Analyst, Options you will support the execution and management of our options-based ETF strategies. Reporting to the Head of ETF Operations & Accounting, this position sits at the intersection of trading, portfolio management, and operations. The successful candidate will contribute to daily trading workflows, portfolio monitoring, and data management processes, while gaining direct exposure to options markets and systematic investment strategies.
Responsibilities
Trading & Portfolio Support
- Monitor daily options trading activity and portfolio positioning;
- Maintain and enhance internal tools for portfolio and market monitoring;
- Assist in maintaining portfolio composition files, option baskets, and holdings data;
- Gain exposure to option strategies and daily trading workflows;
Trading Operations
- Perform daily reconciliations across internal systems, custodians, and service providers;
- Investigate and escalate discrepancies related to trades, pricing, and portfolio holdings;
- Monitor option lifecycle events including assignments, expiries, and corporate actions;
- Support trade booking, settlement tracking, and maintenance of trading records;
- Coordinate with custodians, prime brokers, and fund administrators on operational workflows;
- Assist with end-of-day processes and internal reporting;
Data & Reporting
- Maintain internal spreadsheets and reports tracking trades, holdings, and fund activity
- Support daily performance updates and portfolio reporting;
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of portfolio and security data across systems;
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data quality, and reporting processes.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field;
- 1+ years of relevant experience (including internships) in asset management, capital markets, or investment operations;
- Basic understanding of options concepts (e.g. calls, puts) or derivatives through coursework or personal interest is an asset;
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets (coursework, research, or personal investing);
Technical and Core Skills
- Working knowledge of Python, VBA, or other analytical tools;
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively
- Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Reliable, accountable, and proactive in day-to-day work
